How much are your puppies?
Our pups usually range from 500 to 750 dollars. The prices will vary due to; titles, shipping charges, stud fees, etc. of the dogs that are mated.

How much are your started dogs?
The started dog prices will vary with the level of training the dog has accomplished.

Do you offer personal training?
We will give personal training courses indivually or as a group. We will take you through step by step training of beginning and advanced pointing dog classes. We usually have dogs in all stages of training at the kennel to compare with.

Should I train my new dog myself? I have no experience.
Thats depends on what you expect of your finished dog. Also on the amount of time you have to spend on training your own dog. There are points in that dogs training that should be worked on every day, like whoa braking and force braking. You must also have the equipment and the facilities availible to train your own dog. I usually recommend sending it to a professional trainer if it the only pointing dog you intend to own. If not ,you should probably at least learn the basics of training one yourself.

Should I attend private lessons or should I put my dog into kennels for boarding and training?
We believe there is a window in that young pointing dogs life that he should be taught all the basics in. That window will vary somewhat from dog to dog, but it is usually between the age of 10 to 20 months. In that time frame that dog should learn to point, back and retrieve, stop when you give the command to whoa, and come to you when you call him. Most of the customers we get that have us train their dogs don't have the time to devote to the training requirements in that time frame. The private lesson people are usually the type that have more time on their hands and have the facilities to work their dogs but just need some direction throughout the various stages of their dogs training.

When do you have puppies available?
We usually have 3 to 6 month old GSP pups year round. English Pointer pups occasionally.

Do you train your dogs on wild birds?
We do most of our training on pen raised birds. It lets us have more control over training situations. After we have the dogs honest on the bird work we like to put them on wild birds, providing they are in season.

Do you train with a remote (electric) collar?
We train with electronic collars. They are great training tools, but you can also ruin a dog with improper use.

How long will it take to train my dog and what methods will you use?
Each dog learns at a different rate, some pick things up faster then others. But you can usually figure to get a dog whoa broke, pointing and holding its birds, honoring another dog on point and retrieving. You will spend somewhere between 4 to 8 months. If the dog happens to be a natural retriever this can cut up to 6 weeks of that time. The methods we like to use are, teach the dog to heel at the same time we are teaching it whoa. When we have that dog broke to the whoa command we move it out into the field on remote control releases. When we are confident that dog will point and hold its birds we start using pen raised game birds without the remote releases. We spend allot of time teaching the whoa command because everything that we teach that dog is based off that command.

How do I pick the best pup for hunting?
When you pick a pup for hunting the first thing you do is research the bloodlines of both parents. Make sure that both sire and dam come from dogs that are used in the field. There are allot of people out there trying to make a quick dollar by producing and selling unproven junk. They dont rarely,if ever, hunt or trial the dogs. So how would they know what kind of dogs they are producing. Shop the pedigrees first, then pick your pup from there.
